the fact that matt smith is presenting sky news AGAIN tonight, annoys me. Why does paula always present NSW and matt sky news at ten . It would be more senseful if it's the other way round (apart from paula there are many other presenters who could present news at ten when anna is absent like gillian yesterday)

Matt Smith is a staff presenter and Paula Middlehurst is occasional freelance, therefore it makes sense that he gets the more high-profile News at Ten. It's probably as simple as that. When Samantha Simmonds and Jayne Secker return from maternity leave, they'll be more likely to cover, I imagine.

No Kay again, Looks like she is doing 3 day weeks, No sign of Anna Botting all week, Jeremy Thompsons stayed on for an extra couple of hours last week so he probably has 2 weeks off to recover, Jeff Randall was off last night and Martin Stanford has been in Barcelona so Matt Smith and Ashish Joshi have done nsw,

The presenters are all over the place this week

Gillian Joseph did Sky News at Ten on monday, Matt Smith on Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday & Friday

Colin Brazier did Live at Five on Monday, Stephen Dixon on Tuesday & Andrew Wilson on Wednesday, Thursday & Friday

Lorna Dunkely did Afternoon live on Monday & Thursday, Kay Burley on Tuesday, Wednesday & friday

Anna Jones did Jeff Randall Live on Wednesday & Thursday

As if Matt Smith filling in on Sky News Tonight wasn't bad enough, Kelvin MacKenzie has gatecrashed the Monday press preview. Sky even got the straps wrong so MacKenzie was labelled as Maguire, and Maguire was labelled as MacKenzie. Rolling Eyes

To the best of my knowledge, 2 or 3 years. I may be completely wrong though.

I saw all that, I like it when Kelvin is on but I prefer Kevin with Andrew Pierce and Anna Botting presenting

Colin Brazier with Live at Five today and Andrew Wilson is back in Cairo for a 3rd time

Is Jeremy on holiday or is he covering the middle east crisis on location? Interesting that Emma Hurn has played no role in the Middle East crisis considering she is Afria correspondent.

Sky have lost the plot on the middle east coverage. They really ought to be deploying like crazy right across the region, a la just about every other broadcaster.

Whilst they'll never be able to match the resources of the BBC (and neither can anyone else, from what I've seen of their coverage) they should be having a damn good go. I thought their Egypt coverage once it got going was good, but something's missing.

Where's the Sky News that gave us Kosovo liberation day and the fall of Baghdad? It certainly hasn't been in evidence in North Africa.
