The amount of time they are on air has nothing to do with it. They have to be at work hours before going on air, to get up to speed with the latest, and don't go home straight after they have finished on air. It depends what time they are required to come in and start (well that's more to do with my point) and go home. it may be shorter or longer and earlier or later than a different position.
EDIT: unless my original post was very clear on what I meant.
Yeh I understand that, I was just making the point that I'm sure she'd much rather present a main programme than just do the business updates and that I can't see her turning down what is in effect a promotion which sees her covering all the channels main strands.
Yes I understand the fact he only works three days a week under this new schedule however it is on one of the main programmes. (Previously his show was an hour long and could be easily covered by one of the headlines presenters. But now it is three hours long so it would be unlikely he would miss sky news today to cover Sunrise.) So there is two days where he can’t cover plus the fact one of his days is a Saturday meaning if Mr Holmes was of for week and Colin would only likely be able to do two days of the week because one of them surely he would have off.
I agree that there is a possibility that over the coming couple of years we might start to see Charlotte in particular get more exposure on the channel, in particular I could easily see her covering for Eamonn.
In regards to Woodyeya’s point about her being at sky since September 2009 did she not spend some time as a Business and Political correspondent?
I seem to remember she joined just on a business brief but was then used as one of the correspondents during the election. Think she was with Cameron?
I have however whilst reading about Chris and Geoff’s new role in the forces news (Good luck to them BTW I’m glad they have found work) If it was about staffing cuts then what was the point because they have had to take a new political correspondent on to replaced Niall who took over Geoff’s old role. They have appointed a Security Editor and a new general reporter.
I was going to question this the other day. The argument that it was to save money just doesn't seem to follow suit. There must obviously be other reasons for the change around in personnel that we saw?
