Kate McCann from the Daily Telegraph is joining Sky News's political team. She's not a stranger to tv, being a talking head on Daily/Sunday Politics, The Papers and Press Preview.
Beth Rigby promoted to Deputy Political Editor.....good move IMO
Very good move. But you would have thought that either the political editor or their deputy would be the person to present the Sunday morning political interview show. I’m a big fan of Sophy Ridge but feel she’s undermined as presenter slightly by not being more prominent on the channel.
That’s a significant increase in their on air political reporting team. A couple of years ago after Glen Oglaza and Peter Sepencer left they were down to 4. Now I make it an on air team of 9. Think that’s too much even considering the level of political coverage today.
Not on here much these days but would just like to acknowledge what an incredible job Faisal Islam has done as Political Editor over the last couple of years. Especially following in Adam Boulton’s footsteps who had been in the role for over 20 years. It was a brave move in appointing him considering he didn’t come from a Political reporting background but he is the shining light at Sky these days.

Considering she's only really just returned from maternity leave, I think they're slowly re-introducing her back into the schedule. She did some cover last week in addition to her Ridge on Sunday shifts, which include a Friday location day.
