Is the new schedule permanit? Also what is the new line up during the day?

If you're talking about what we've had this week, the answer is no. This is just a holiday schedule used over the Christmas period (similar to the weekend one). The reason why it's lasted so long after Christmas is that the main weekday presenters have been rehearsing in the glass box for its return next Tuesday; this is also why you might have seen some new people in the presenting seat.

Yeah - it's for sure the most intense one but I like the mixed feel of it - it's totally suited to the time-slot that it is - today we have Colin on it who is desk-bound - Colin's great at his presenter role but not really suited to this slot and having it behind a desk makes the program feel totally different than it does when you have the Kay style show that Tom/Gamal/Kimberley have done.

Yes, the presentation of that shift really does make it stand out from the rest of the schedule. They used to base it solely at the desk when someone was covering for Kay (with the exception of Gamal and his 15:00-19:00 shift on a Friday), but it seems that they alter that based on how the presenter feels. I think seeing as Kimberley was doing a lot of standing-presenting in front of the screen on Monday and Tuesday on Sunrise, she probably felt comfortable in Kay's format. I've not known Colin to ever do this shift, so he most likely felt more comfortable presenting just from the desk (same with Dermot).

When Colin's been on with Jane Secker he's presented from the big screen before. It needs to be consistent though.

Ah - I wasn't aware they used the screen during their shift (I rarely manage to catch it). Agree with you on the consistency point Thumbs up

Do they ever use that style (we'll call it the Kay style for now Wink ) for interviews/debates during that shift, or do they both remain at the desk - with one presenter conducting - with a split screen?

Yes (to your first point)...

So to answer your question yes he can and does present from the screen so I don't know why the shift was presented from the desk.

Ah - thanks for clarifying, mate Smile

We'll see if they use the screen more for debates etc on the 12:00-15:00 shift when they're back in the glass box next week...personally, I hope they do!

Dominic also presenting from the desk today.

The 11:00 - 15:00 shift is normally double headed from the desk.
15:00 - 18:30 is normally at the screen if it's Kay/Gamal/Tom

Did I just hear Dominic Waghorn use the term 's*** hole' during a debate?

Did I just hear Dominic Waghorn use the term 's*** hole' during a debate?

Does anyone know whether other news channels are using this term in their reports?

What sort of process is there in place for permitting the use of such words?

My God - both Dominic and his current interviewee have used the term 4 times in the last minute. Is someone about to get their P45?
