Did Sky ever send anyone to Pakistan for the floods? Jonathan Samuels was there for Five, but I never saw Sky having a reporter 'of their own' on the ground
I'm sure he did at least one report for Sky News during the Pakistan floods. I'm sure he did.
Though presumably Five News have their own editorial and production teams within the Sky News empire, just as ITV and C4 News have at ITN?
Presumably Sky and Five have different budgets and chose to spend them in different ways.
Indeed. It just seems a bit embarrasing though that a news channel with a few hundred? staff sends such a small team, yet a much smaller news service which focuses a lot on 'soft' news sends senior staff. Surely if Five News decide they need to dispatch someone to cover foreign news, then it's big news?

Good. Either way though Sky News didn't devote many resources to an important story
As many have said there is most likely budget/ Editorial difference that make five news and sky news coverage of events different sky news seem to be cutting back (weather presenters, correspondents etc,) and also Sky news is running all day bringing the latest updates and other breaking stories and five just for two half hour programmes which is rounding up the day’s news.
Also Matt Barbet back then was a correspondent/presenter and Natasha was in the studio.
Also where in the sky news island is the area were Saturday Sport comes from?.
Does anyone know if any new schedule changes are going to happen in the near future? It seems like years since the last major schedule revamp. I really wish presenters such as Paula Middlehurst and Samantha Simmonds were given a more substantial role. Paula is really wasted on these 15 minute summaries she is given all the time.

I find the current scheduling very dry. There needs to be either more variety in programming or it should go back to a On the hour format.
I look at Jeff Randalls programme compared to Fox's Cavuto programme, and Sky's in comparison is so slow in pace, dry and stale. The name of the programme and graphics are also uninspiring. Cavuto also manages to have far more guests and covers a lot more stories and issues.
I'm starting to find Sunrise a little rushed, they don't seem to put as much depth into the stories anymore. The sport and weather bulletins are becoming shorter and less detailed. It is worse on weekdays, when Eamonn is presenting.
Did Gillian Joseph present all of Afternoon Live or did Kay Burley present for the first couple of hours?
Gillian did the whole thing. No secondary bulletin presenter. Guess someone was ill.
Last time I seen the sky news schedule Kay Burley was not down to host Mondays version of Afternoon live it was Lourna Dunkley.
Yes it's usually Lorna on Mondays, its just that it said in the live blog on the website that Afternoon Live with Kay Burley was coming up. It was probably just a mistake.
