Better to whom, though? Yes, it's the overnight slot in the UK, but in the overseas territories at which Sky World News is in large part aimed, it's a pretty prominent berth, and certainly explains why Lukwesa Burak developed something of a cult following among viewers abroad.
Kimberley Leanord surely has to be given a better time slot?

Considering both Kimberley and Lukwesa are African (KL from Kenya and LB from Zambia), it makes sense to have a foreign presenter in that slot, especially during the World News slots.
Also Kimberley has had her fair share of daytime cover over the summer.

No, not just Africa - there's also Asia, Australasia (if they're not running their own programming) and the Americas.
Africa is on the same time zones as Europe, so is that really the target for overnight bulletins?

The point I was making is that by utilising a foreign born presenter on that shift enables Sky to market it as an international English language news channel with a British focus as they do with Sky News International.
Sky could have easily added another British presenter to that shift after Lukwesa left, but clearly see having another presenter who happens to be African and has worked in the Middle East as an advantage.

It is odd that Anna Jones, Anna Botting and Martin Stanford were on an equal level at Sky News Today in 2005, Anna B got the 10pm and Martin did EVERYTHING digital or newswall related and Anna J got nothing special. She was Anna B's mat cover (she did very well!), I remember around 2012/2013 she was being shunted around the weekends and they haven't really found her a slot since. Did she not join Sky for the 2005 relaunch? And she's only had one show for about 2 years...
Actually quite the opposite actually. When Sky first went big on Business News Anna Jones was the flagship presenter and really excelled in the role. However, I believe after about 18 months/2 years she started filling in for somebody on maternity leave and never really went back to presenting the business news after that.
Watching Anna Jones presenting the other day, I remembered how good she is. Hopefully shes given a plum spot on the new schedule - maybe overtaking Murnaghan on Saturday & Sunday, or replacing Jeremy for the flagship 5pm bulletin once he retires?
She's criminally underused at present IMO

Well that explains why Sophy Ridge covered Sky News Tonight last week in preparation for presenting on Fridays.
Overall, that's a decent line-up and keeps Anna Botting and Anna Jones in their normal slots.

LIVE at 5 will no longer exist then.
The only bulletin (that I took) as a staple in schedule that came across a standard type bulletin (like news at ten)
