Looks like Stephen Dixon has gone home ill - Gillian moved into the main presenter spot during the 6:40am papers and Richard Suchet has taken her secondary place.
Was TV presenter fired over 'gay row' with class warrior? Sky News host Mark Longhurst leaves the channel two months after clash with activist Owen Jones during newspaper review
The Owen Jones row may have contributed to Longhurst's departure, but it'd fit in with what appears to be a smaller pool of presenters without a dual role such as Kay Burley, Eamonn Holmes and Anna Jones, with the rest of the team made up of correspondents and reporters covering pres shifts.
Wasn't Mark's departure announced, by him, quite a while ago? ISTR that the changes at Sky are heavily based around cost-cutting and slimming down the service both on-screen and behind the cameras.
I wouldn't link it to the Owen Jones interview at all.

A newspaper published online that Mark had left after Jones flounced off the Press Preview, but was quickly deleted. They did get the other two departures at the time correct though.
I wonder will we see a completely revamped schedule when they move to their new Studio's in September? I wouldn't be surprised to see a complete revamp with presenters possible doing longer shifts.
There is no way they can continue with their current line-up with the loss of Mark, who did the longest shift apart from overnights 7pm-12am on Saturday and Sunday's. His loss followed by Martin Stanford, Andrew Wilson, Paula Middlehurst, Lukwesa Burak, Andrew Wilson and Samantha Simmonds will mean that it will be impossible to maintain their current schedule.
Also in recent weeks there has been no double headed presentation with Colon Brazier and Jayne Secker. I assume this will now permanently be single headed.
Business News has also been quietly axed in recent weeks after it was reported that Sky were considering cutting their business updates.
It would appear death by a thousand cuts is the likely outcome for Sky News

What they've done in recent weeks is that the biz person has gone on location to report on a single biz story in the afternoons at least. Charlotte Lomas, who has depped for the biz presenters has been one of those presenters, otherwise it's been a graphic with the markets coming out of the break at x45. I believe they're down to Ian King and Samantha Washington now.
Always liked Mark Longhurst except on the press previews as I've mentioned before he would interrupt people all the time and sometimes he might as well have just reviewed the papers on his own for the input he let guests get in - If the Owen Jones incident does have anything to do with him going then I hope Sky News never have him on again - I saw him on last weekend and instantly switched off as he has a very confrontational approach no matter what programme he's on or talking about.
It doesn't feel right seeing experienced reporters presenting whilst they seem to have an endless stream of new reporters with no gravitas and little experience. its even worse when we get fairly new reporters doing presenting.
I had noticed that Colin and Jayne were not presenting together but thought maybe its just a summer thing.
John Ryley for heaven's sake man go before you destroy what is left of Sky News - I'm going to wait and see what September brings but I'm close to going back to the BBC News Channel.

You have Andrew Wilson's name written twice there. Were you meant to say Lorna Dunkley instead?
With more serious matters afoot I'm really surprised that Mark Longhurst has gone off Sky News that fast. I really thought he was a certainty in saying on there after it's rebrand. This news is really unfortunate for himself as I thought he was an excellent newsreader on Sky.
It's a shame to see him go now. Any word on his new role yet after leaving Sky?
