Sad to hear Samantha Simmonds is leaving - Does anyone know when or has she already gone? Twitter name has been changed already. Have Andrew and Lorna gone yet?

They seem to have a never ending stream of new reporters these days yet are getting rid of people who have been loyal to Sky News for 22 and 14 years. Maybe Mr Ryley should take a pay cut to save costs.

I think its a mistake to ditch sky news centre and move into a small glass box studio - Interesting that Andrew mentions the move to a new building as 1 of many reasons for him leaving.

Also how many senior political correspondents do they currently have? Over the last 2 weeks I've seen all the political ones called it except Faisal and Jon.

As for Ken and co they shouldn't have decided to have a conversation sat in front of a large microphone (according to Kay) and a camera in the middle of a busy newsroom.

It's interesting to see - in my opinion, that Sky Sports News has a full strong lineup of presenters still to this day, many of them young, while Sky News is taking a nose dive. It's also worth noting that SSN seems to have been the steady ship over the years, with it having gone through much less change.

I wouldn't agree with that really, whilst there have been little cutback to Sky Sports News, the team who are there have been covering more work, for example, Sports news bulletins for Sky News are now from Sky Sports News, and in the small hours there are a lot more repeats and the average shift length was increased for the SSN presenters a year or two ago. There has been cuts to sports coverage in general too.

I wonder why they choose Sophie Ridge over the likes of Gillian Joseph or Anna Jones to anchor the Live at Five bulletins? Or it it Sky simply saying there is no flagship bulletins anymore?

BTW, they might do, but every time I have tuned in, I have only seen Sophie Ridge other than Jeremy.

I've speculated before that I think we're seeing the start of dual roles for the Sky News presenters, with Sophy presenting in addition to her day job as a senior political correspondent based at Millbank.

Worth noting that yesterday (Friday) and today Sunrise's Stephen Dixon has been doing the late shift in replacement of Mark Longhurst who's to leave the network.

Gillian presented Sunrise with Gamal

Kimberley Leonard Did 5pm today.

Longhurst is certainly leaving? I thought that was put to bed?

... or he could just have been filling in for an absent colleague.

Sam Washington is doing today 5pm. Don't think I've seen her on the desk before?

Sam has presented many times on weekends before, normally seeing her on the morning 10am shift.

Sam has also covered for Kay in a non-biz role too.
