Also on another note, Paula Middlehurst now appears to be presenting for British Forces News. Wonder if she has left Sky? A shame if so, she's been there for years, yet seems to have been sidelined in recent years.


Just watched a Skynews Bulletin from the 25th of December 1997, which proves that Paula is also one of the presenters of skynews´ early days :

Sophy Ridge presented a Scotland Debate feature from the wall using the Press Preview sofas and table from 10.45-11pm.

Martin Stanford is now presenting the 11.30 Press Preview from Sky Centre.

Where is Kay Burley?

Can't find out why Kay Burley isn't on. I've trawled Twitter, searched Google but nope, no explanation as to why "Sky News with Kay Burley" hasn't featured Kay Burley for ages. I get she was on holiday last week but where the devil is she now? Thought she'd be on today wetting herself with happiness about the Royal baby numero deux!

If anyone knows, I'd love to know.

She's currently being held hostage in a cave by a particularly-irate bison who's a fan of Samantha Simmonds.

Seriously, why is it anyone's business but hers? In the highly-unlikely event she wasn't coming back, you would have heard.

Can't tell if you are being sarcastic or not (you never bleeding know here) but:

Kay Burley is in Edinburgh today, anchoring all day. Dharshini David is filling-in Kay's seat at Sky Centre and Jannat Jallil is in Dharshini's place at The Gherkin.

Curious as to why they didn't just put Jannat in place of Kay.

Probably because some Sky big-wig has realised how terrible Jannat really is at daytime news. Much better relegated to subbing on overnights and doing very little two ways/interviews. Only a wild guess though...

Wouldn't say I agree with that, Jannat's been on Sunrise a few times now and she comes over really well. I really think she suits the programme.

Following the killing of another hostage, Mark Longhurst has continued presenting through the midnight to 1am hour and is now continuing past 1am.
