Wow, didn't see that one coming. He's still relatively young and had a lot to offer as Political Editor. Although his duties have been somewhat curtailed in recent times and has gone on very few foreign trips with the Prime Minister in recent years. It would seem he will be doing a Dimbleby type role with Sky. A huge change, who would have thought that both Adam and Tim Marshall would have changed roles after however many years. This will be a highly coveted job. Joey Jones is an obvious choice as DPE but Jon Craig should also be in the running alongside external candidates. It will feel strange though seeing Adam still with Sky but somebody else as Political Editor. I hope it isn't similar to the Moyes - Ferguson situation at Manchester United!
He's been Political Editor since the channel's launch in 1989, so he's been doing it for nearly 25 years - before that he was political editor for TV-am.
Boulton & Co will continue until Adam commences his new show at which point it will be scrapped or replaced. Would love to see the Live desk make a return at 9am and 1pm with Colin Brazier.
no, 'editor-at-large' will be his title. surprised they're giving him a presenting job as he still struggles to read the autocue after all these years and has he ever been known for particularly probing or revelatory interviews?
would be surprised if Joey Jones doesn't get the top job
Never really been a fan of him - hopefully Jeff Randall leaving and this new show beginning will see the Sky schedules get a bit of a shake up - they've been rather stuck in a rutt lately.
I hope the 1pm show continues under it's existing format with a new name.
As for political Editor, Joey or young upstart Sophy Ridge.
Sophy Ridge is hopeless. If they give her the job (just because she's a pretty blonde) we might as well all pack up and go home...
It'd be another indication of sloping towards Fox News considering they've replaced older political reporters with younger women, however she was great covering the News of the World story with her contacts from her previous employer.
