Karthi Gnanasegaram on the overnight. First time, I think.

She gets around. She was doing the sport on BBC World a couple of weeks ago. And I've seen her doing the sport on Sky News as well.

Haha well Anna Botting has just absolutely crumpled with laughter during the weather update, apparently because of something Kelvin McKenzie was doing beside her . . . she couldn't finish the weather report, then was barely able to finish off her link into the break. McKenzie had been present for the Press Preview. Quite funny really, if you were watching . . .

Looked unprofessional to me. A bit of banter is one thing but uncontrollable laughter? If Botting finds McKenzie this funny, one wonders how she would cope with someone genuinely witty in the studio?

Now now that's a bit of a low blow in relation to Kelvin. He is the best newspaper reviewer out there and Sky News would be for the better if he had stayed in his role he previously had there.

Joey Jones now referred to as Deputy Political Editor, I haven't heard that before today. And Tony Blair is on at 8:45 tomorrow morning - surely Sky would want him on earlier, when Sunrise gets more viewers?

But he's on Daybreak according to the Daybreak thread at 8.20

How close are the ITV / Sky studios then?

Depends - he could always come from Millbank (or indeed a small studio in TLS) DTL?

I think Sky's studio at Millbank is out of action as its being upgraded/refurbished.

I'm sure Sky would like him on earlier but I guess Tony Blair's people decide what time he's available for interviews. I believe he will be at Millbank for the interview, so guess the renovations may be complete.

They're not complete . . . he sounds like he's sitting in a cupboard unfortunately (an empty one).

Yes but I suppose it was either that or not have the ex-PM on the show. I think, given those two options, they made the right choice.

Look at me defending Sky News. What have I turned into? I still thought Eamonn's interview was feeble, even for his standards.
