Refer to my comments from the previous night - Sky have really dropped the ball when it comes to overnight news recently and have quite often been relying on reporters to present this slot since Lukwesa left.
Coupled with the fact Anna Botting and Sarah Hewson are on maternity leave, which has led to the likes of Anna Jones, Sarah-Jane Mee and Jayne Secker filling in often directly for them, meaning they can't act as cover for other senior presenters, sees overnight presenters then filling in often during the day on the less high profile shifts, leaving them with a void overnight which seems to have had no less than about half a dozen people drafted in from other Sky News roles in the last couple of months and the now reluctance to use freelancers.
They now need to reappoint a permanent replacement for Lukwesa,, five days a week or simply give someone like Chloe Potter, or another freelancer, a contract as maeternity cover.

Agree, but I don't think I've ever seen here do 5 nights a week, it's normally three or four which still leaves them with some space to fill, you normally see Paula Middlehurst 2-3 nights a week (but also is being increasingly used during the day the last few weeks)) as well, but for a good number of weeks now they've struggled one or two days a week which has seen a good few debuts as presenters.
I'm sure when Anna and Sarah are back things will get back to normal, as that will release the likes of Jannat Jalil and Paula Middlehurst to be released from daytime schedules to go back to overnights

Paula Middlehurst should not be wasted on overnight shifts in my opinion as for jannat jalil i do not think she should even be presenting anywhere. I think Hannah Tallett, Gemma Morris and Phillipa hall are capable presenters who could be used more, instead of the likes of Karim Gohary. Just my opinion.

I think last night was the first time Lisa presented a bulletin since leaving Central years ago. And she was a last minute stand-in.

Samantha Simmonds did a double shift (10-12 & 12-2) today, whilst Niall Patterson is doing 2pm to 5pm it seems, including a report from CBS News correspondent Holly Williams
