Has Philippa Tomson now replaced Lukwesa Burak on overnights? Haven't caught her on a weekend when I've watched.

Currently she has replaced her, whether this is permanent , I don't know.

I knew that Lukwesa left!!! The issue here was whether Philippa Tomson is the new permanent Sky World News presenter , or whether sky is continuing to use various presenters. At least I unerstood the question that way.

Former Bloomberg reporter Poppy Trowbridge has joined the biz team at Sky.

Replacing Alastair Bunkall who is to become Defence Correspondent.

Oh - I thought Niall Paterson was the defence correspondent?

Is he now a presenter (going on his recent appearances)?

Sam Kiley was the 'Defence and Security Editor' until he moved to become Middle East correspondent. Niall has been a general news correspondent and adjunct presenter for almost a year.

Niall Paterson was replaced as Defence Correspondent because he had no background in the military and was just another correspondent so they merged the Defence and Security roles into one so a genuinely experienced military reporter who has been to conflicts and has good sources inside the MoD would get the job done properly.

Now they've got another random correspondent with no background in defence covering what arguably is a rather major news area... One wonders if it'll work out this time.

Bring back Geoff Meade I say!

Sam Kiley is a good journalist and he clearly knows his stuff. Personally, I like Niall and while defence may not be his area he does comes across competent when I have seen his work on Sky.

I may watch the channel more when Anna Botting comes back from her leave
