Saw him a couple of months back myself, there's quite a number o freelancers and relief presenters at present.

You'd struggle to have seen him a couple of months back. His first day was July 15th according to Twitter.

I swear I saw him before then, but he certainly has been on more frequently recently,

Im a big fan of jannat jalil and think she is wasted on overnights, give her a more high profile gig instead of using the likes of rachel younger who is v v irritating. Was also wondering if anyone knows how presenters are chosen for what programme, is there a system for who covers what programme.

And I'm the exact opposite. Jannat Jalil constantly stumbles over her words and her interviewing technique is very poor and disjointed. I managed to watch 5 minutes of her at the 10am TOTH today before switching off.

Very poor earlier today on the Breaking News outside the Ecuadorian Embassy, very prone to stutter, don't think her interviewing is too bad, and her news-reading is very good, but she's like a few presenters at Sky, good from an autocue, but useless when it comes to improvising, something that despite her criticism, Kay Burley is excellent at.

He's back on BBC World News today (Arron Armstrong, that is.)

Has Pip Tomson done any reporting yet? I think I've only seen her news presenting at weekends.

Does Paula Middlehurst do the overnights much? She was on at Midnight last night. Does she no longer do the weekend afternoons?

I think she, and Philippa Tomson, are Lukwesa's deputies for Midnight, World News and World News Review and Business Report.

Lukwesa only ever does weekdays so the weekend are Usaully either Pip or Paula, and they also deputise during the week. Overnight weekends have never had a regular presenter.

But Paula has often presented World News on weekdays recently, whereas Lukwesa has presented rather less shifts than usual.

EDIT: Today Paula will again present World News on a weekday. It seems that Lisa Knights has dissappeared as well. During the last few weeks you even had the impression that Paula is the main overnight presenter.
