Exactly, it just doesn´t feel right. Should come back IMO.

Still don't think it's a major issue on normal programming, but....

Ian King live and Sky News Tonight looks plain wrong, you go from last headline, to being cut abruptly to a title screen for a second, then to the presenter it looks pretty crude.

The should bring back the animation or drop the title card and use just an IAN KING LIVE / TONIGHT graphics at the bottom left. The full screen Title card doesn't work at all now the animation is gone.

It's from Westminster, Sky News Tonight has always been from there.

Just seen a live with Katie Stallard from the old studio, and like Westminster, it appears to have lost some of its blue elements and had them replaced with the very washed out very light blue colour that is almost white instead like I posted a screenshot of yesterday of in Westminster.

Not a fan of these hybird looks, the whitish elements alongside a studio that is predominantly blue look totally out of place in studios that were never designed to have them in. There's not enough time to make significant changes before election, so should just leave them how they are rather than messy hybirds we are getting.

So is Sky news tonight all election now?

By 24 hours I'm sure they mean for news coverage, not for The Pledge, Ian King Live and Sky News Tonight, IE not using the old studio, rather than using nothing but the Glass Box.

Exactly. To impute otherwise would be almost-exquisite pedantry! Very Happy

The shoebox is being used because other bits are beginning to be worked on pre-election.

Oh, and well done on that screenshot catching Katie what looks like mid-sneeze - I shall show it to her now for a giggle! Wink

Just random time I paused it at to take the screenshot!

I assumed that the old set was in a state of flux - it's just I hope if they are going to go for a hybrid look with more white they get it right, Westminster and the shoebox look a bit mish-mash since they've changed the colours a bit to add whites, neither here or there and look a bit untidy.

I'm not a fan of the white look itself, but I must admit the Glass Box, whilst I'm still far from it's biggest fan, looks vastly better now than it did on day one. The extra lighting and the blue and red elements make it feel more Sky News and less industrial, without them it was too spartan and looked too much like an office block.

Ironically Westminster around the screen now looks like it would fit in well right at the start of Sky News HD in the 2010 election

Could well be, it's not really clear whether that's an MCR monitor wall or gallery. Having a UHD quad display in the latter is a bit strange?

I don't know. The box is labeled "video inputs" and the way the images are scrambled in no coherent order made me think it was different segments of thee graphics unless of course it could refer to the different connections into the video wall itself. I've seen in US gallery multiviewer having "mini multiviewers" imputed in a smaller box. I remember seeing an image for NBC Nightly News and the multiviewer had an input for the video wall and inside that was a smaller segment with graphics corresponding to the output of each panel.

Suggest it's the input to the screens outside of the Glass Box on the walls of Sky Central, to the left here:

For some reason I really want to see what it's like coming from the glass box in the dead of night. The building must be spooky!

From what I've seen, from overnights so far it's someone sitting right in front of a screen so you don't see anything apart from a screen behind the presenters.

Weekend Sunrise is a good time to see when Sky Central is dead.
