If memory serves, ITV didn't run any Bradby-specific/tweaked titles promos before his similarly-soft launch, but I don't recall any broad-brush posts about how terrible at their jobs the ITV team must have been because they didn't do any promos, so I think there's something of a double standard at work here... again, all based on a product nobody has yet seen.

No but it was generally well known by the public as it was covered in the media.

That's true among those of us who bother to care about this sort of thing, but I don't think it seeped into the wider public consciousness to even a fraction of the degree it did when they scrapped their Ten in the first place, nor indeed when Sir Trev came back.

You're very single-minded about some things, aren't you? Particularly the Sky News studio/set.

We got the message pretty fast that you thought it looked like a Tesco Extra; now we're understanding that you believe it is reminiscent of a plain, white box, perhaps one made of cardboard. Yep, we comprehend. No need to continue reposting the same content over and over.

I also think you're being fairly rude to the poster you're replying too, most especially in the tone you are using.

Moreover, I have criticised skygeek and others in the past if I feel they are coming across as smug - whether they have intended to or not. On this occasion, I'm with them. They've let people know that something is coming and when to watch - what more is needed? I could understand if they simply said 'something is coming soon but I can't say more!' - but they're not, they've been pretty specific. Cut them a little slack and stop being so, for want of a better word, needy.

Im certain that I can post any critique that i choose and as long as i dont insult or call people names. I have every right to defend my posts to those who choose to take them out of context or read something into them that isnt intended. Scroll on by. OK? Alight?

Passive aggression will get you nowhere. Time to stop obsessing about this topic and... think outside the box.

Time is ticking away until we find out Smile

It's bound to leak though isn't it before it happens?

What do you mean "leak"?

You know who's presenting it.

You know it's going to be a slightly differently-formatted programme.

You know it's going to be coming from a different studio than it has up to now.

What more is there that you could possibly - on a level vital to your continuing function as a human being - NEED to know?

PS: Promos have just this moment started running with some of the new branding. These aren't "leaks" - they're called "advertising". Fill yer boots!

Wow.......so a complete and blatant rip-off of ITN! How original!

I know that is only a trailer, and not the final product, but when I thought that studio couldn't look worse. Black and white it is then?!

I also dislike the new border around the screen, too thick. Why did they change that?!

It's still a low blow from Sky. And they're completely trying to cash in on ITN's traditional prestige and history. It's a 100% rip off of the ITN News presentation from 1995 mixed with News at Ten 2008. Not cool in my opinion. The way you were building it up, I thought it was going to be something original and groundbreaking. It basically looks like a rehash of what ITN's been doing for decades.

I disagree.

I say this as someone with many friends at ITV News... but if ITV revere the concept and branding of a signature news bulletin at 10pm so highly, why undermine it by scrapping it every few years when it turns out "Guess Whose Genitals? with Keith Lemon" isn't the monster hit they thought it would be, so they have to scurry back with their tails between their legs and try to pass it off as a reclamation of ITN's heritage rather than what it is... which is an admission-of-defeat?

ETA: This isn't a criticism of ITV News, but of ITV as a corporate entity. I happen to know that many folks in their newsroom are very unhappy about the temporary ditching of their Ten, as well they should be.
