Why is there no longer a clock on screen?

On the screenshots, they are from the live web video, unless you mean on the actual channel.

No clock. That would be the final straw.
I was referring to the screenshots previously posted in this thread, yeah. I expected an online feed to be identical to the TV one.

The worst set with the worst overall lineup of presenters in sky news history. There are some good names left but overall it's too lightweight and they will be found out with big breaking news.

Ironically sky used to be masters for breaking news and big events. Now they are so far away from that. They look like they have abandoned all their core principles to be a BBC clone and the vast number of people who pick it over BBC do so because it's different and better. If they wanted BBC they would watch BBC.

Since they started using YouTube for the live stream there has never been a clock. They alre discontinued the Irish stream and gave us a rest of the world one too which shows a lack of respect for Irish customers.

Many businesses who used to show sky news in reception have now switched to BBC because their feed is international.

In short JT! Picked the right time to go. I have always thought previous revamps added or improved something. This one hasn't and sky news has lost its identity and abandoned what set it apart

I like this presenting position... only time today that the building has looked natural on screen.

That photo proves my point. Look at all that distraction in the background.

Maybe if sky realised it's about a news channel rather that trying to make them show off their new offices as a trophy????

I'm not sure, the BBC gets away with it. Sky version is too bare. I already miss the blue.

Everyone is, of course, entitled to their own opinion, and I respect your right to have your opinion.

But I must also express my own opinion, if I may: from where do you get your statistics regarding businesses switching from Sky to BBC news in their public areas?

How, specifically, has Sky News "lost their identity"? They may have created a new one, but there is most certainly one! Proven by the previous pages and pages of debate about said identity, which may not be to everyone's taste. But it does exist.

And, I'm sorry to say, but suggesting that Sky have lost their ability to effectively handle Breaking News is as ludicrous as to suggest that the Pope never wears white! Or that Cadbury's don't know how to make chocolate!

You're entitled to your opinion and I respect your entitlement. But your comments border on inane. And utterly ridiculous. My opinion.

They are certainly not the Sky News I grew up watching. All of the people and the aspects which made Sky News for me are all disappearing one by one.

of course a channel must change with the times. But if this is it, then I think Sky is no longer for me.

The box is only part of it. Something has definitely changed behind the scenes.

That being said, it would not be fair to judge the box based on a few hours, but from what I have seen so far, it's a no.

The set looks as good as expected from the preview photos but the fact they put 0 effort into TOTH is outrageous. Not even a decent pan of the studio.??? I expedcted voiceover to come back with a nice pan of the box but no, it's just that terrible logo sting. They could at least play a bit of that boring slow headline music with a pan of the box instead of going right away to presenters.

Kay's main shot is very nice, probably the best the box offers, it looks busy and has depth.

Seemingly they will be using different sides of the table. Colin and Jayne used left one, Kay is now facing the screen, and I guess Sunrise may use the right one. There has been something distracting blue and yellow behind Colin and Jayne, not sure what it was. Overall however I'm not disappointed at all, I really like this new set, the glass box look very spacious and clean.

The echo is terrible. Has Sky made all its audio engineers redundant as well? I'm no expert, but I could have warned them that a half empty glass box with faux wood flooring would create awful acoustics. It's all just so boring. Now I think I understand why the secondary studio has not launched at the same time. This all feels very experimental and I wouldn't be surprised if the glass box was reduced to just being used a few hours maximum per day as a token gesture. We can but pray.

I'm liking it too. Looks very clean and fresh. Some nicer pan shots the past hour or so. I think they will do some tweaks, as one would no doubt expect with something so new.

However, surely people are ultimately watching any news for the news itself? The quality of journalism has certainly not gone down, nor Sky's ability to respond to breaking news.

I think this new look will be imitated by many in the future. It looks good today, and is only going to improve with some minor changes.
