So, the stuff that is in the glass box will remain there, but the other programmes will move to a completely new studio?

Basically yes.

The 'Baby Shard' studio was supposedly launching in December, according to the press release. I'm wondering whether in reality it's more likely to be expected in the new year. I'm very intrigued what the new studio is going to look like, hopefully something around half way between Sky News Centre and Sky Central. The press release stated that it would have a view of the City, so I'm very much looking forward to how they do this.

The NI company, News UK, already have newsroom style studios in the Baby Shard, they've been there a couple of years, perhaps some of that is being repurposed for Sky News ?

Can see the Shard studio unbuilt here: https://twitter.com/skynewstech/status/798825013142925312

If they cant remove the columns in the windows it may look a bit.. iffy.

In one of the replies on below the tweet they were asked if the columns could be moved and they said they couldn't.

Is the plain blue tint to the Westminster newsroom background new? Looks quite nice.

Today they are doing the whole of Sunrise stood up - Jonathan Samuels has tweeted that the desk is stuck and Sarah just said they played a game of musical chairs before coming on air and lost.

Edit - most of the comments to Sarah this morning on Twitter are saying they all look awkward and uncomfortable standing up and they want the chairs back

I wonder why they didn't revert back to the old studio - I assume the new studio is directed by the old studio gallery so possibly a straightforward switch back?

If they've not used the old studio for a few months then it's probably not in a state to be used just like that, especially early in the morning.

I've not seen what they do in it overnight but I'd have thought it's just a simple set up rather than what's needed for Sunrise
