I find the Sky 'glass box' gross and have now stopped watching Sky News after some 20 years using it for my main news channel!

Why? I hate seeing all the 'goings on' behind the presenters, thoroughly irritating! The desk is too small, the presenters look most uncomfortable particularly when they stand at the desk! The whole 'box' is totally bland and just looks ridiculous, is this why so many have left??

Amazes me that the 'experts' can come up with something so ghastly, am sure Sky must have lost many many viewers with this total waste of subscribers money! Not surprising subscriptions just go up and up.

A nice, and necessary touch. I've mostly liked the glass box, but it needed a little of the blue and red to gel together with the older sets.

Adding the blue horizontal panel and the red column is totally LOL-worthy. Because obviously you can see branding matters and whatever the discussion that have happened behind the scenes, RED and BLUE are part of Sky brand. So this "new direction" of all white was a less than smart move. So like so many have said when the box launched....prepare for some incremental changes. Even if they werent allowed to sprinkle red and blue panels all over the back ground, it still would have been interesting to add white up/down lighting to the columns for interest instead of couple of white light boxes they currently have randomly or instead of that awful cadaver grey on the floor the could have done it in glossy blue or instead of the wood strip had that red or something interesting on the floor. i would imagine if they can do anything to the area or balconies, they may add some coloured transparent panels to hang outside the box or affix clear coloured graphics such as stripes to the box to add interest. In any event, let the changes roll.

That shot that HarryBNF posted just looks so messy. Small Christmas trees, one huge tree, heaps of cream colour with stairways/balconies everywhere, and now some small strips of red and blue.

It just looks so shoddily thrown together, it's quite poor.

I agree. The haphazardly placed little Christmas trees plonked in random places is what does it for me, whoever thought that that looks good.

I'm looking forward to the new Sky Studios set next year, but I'm also looking forward to the new business studio, and see what design direction they take with that, especially if the studio features windows. I can't imagine a load of white and beige being too kind when the show will broadcast during darkness for half of the year, whenever they decide to launch the studio, that is.

The box would look so much better if rather than Christmas trees there was a working newsroom in shot below.

I see they're still broadcasting out of the old studio at certain times of the day. Is the long-term plan to move all output to the glass box eventually?

No, the newsroom and off-peak studio are moving.

First time I've noticed this 'live tweets' pushback on PMQs, seems to take inspiration from the BBC. It seems to just be displaying Adam Boulton's Twitter feed however.

EDIT: Also displaying MP info & stats.

So, the stuff that is in the glass box will remain there, but the other programmes will move to a completely new studio?
