I just want the results.

I guess the big double decker BBC Election set and the ITV Atrium set and the SkyCentre light show they used for the Brexit is unnecessary.... If all we want is just the result. Everyone should just remain on their normal sets. And report the result as just a packaged story (we can only hope). Sorry for the sarcasm. But if setting didnt matter, Sky wouldn't have spent the cash to fly all that equipment and people to NYC and hire that space. Why spend the money and it winds up looking like a disused bar on tv?

Seems they have moved from the Times Square studio to the roof of the news corp/Fox Business studio on 6th avenue, looking towards Radio City Music Hall for America Decides with Adam Boulton

I did not like how they cut off Trumps final speech to show the Clinton's waving at the crowd - As soon as Chelsea Clinton started speaking they cut back to Trump - a split screen would have been a compromise keeping the trump audio until Hillary went near the podium.

edit after cutting him off a second time they did put up a split screen with Trump audio

They're using the one in the old studio for the US election, presumably because it's more of a sufficient size and able to be controlled by Ipad, which I haven't seen happen on the new one.

This morning it was Sarah in the US, Jonathan in the box, and Ed Conway and analysis in the old studio, makes you think if they build the second new studio that will have a bigger screen than the box.

It's clear the new screen in the box is not capable of replacing the big screen fully in the old one.

Nice opening. Glad that they've gone back to traditional Sky News style openings.

Very similar 10PM opening to that of the UK General Election in 2012, which is good because it was much better than the last elections and referendum things they have done.

No TOTH, straight to JT with an introduction with Decision Time music overlayed, followed by a full opening graphics sequence, before going back to JT with Decision Time music continuing introducing JT, Kay, and Adam before another graphic then back to JT.

Box not being used, everything from old studio and US.

It's nothing new, it's just a return to the style used in the past. around the 2012 UK election.

The title sequence was a rather understated kaleidoscope effect. Not very Sky News of old but it did look quite nice, if a bit plodding for a title sequence.

I found that opening was completely different compared to the 2012 neon tube style. You mean the 2010 UK election or the 2012 US one?

The kaleidoscope wasn't Sky News of old but the general format of the opening, was identical to that used for 2012 UK election.

I note that the background on the big screen and the background on a lot of the graphics are using a blue tinted background rather than plain white.

Last few weeks it seems that they've started to come around to the fact there was too much white Razz

"Splendid and dignified" doesn't seem right for this election.

I'm not talking about the graphics, I'm talking about the format of it and how it was structured.

The use of music, JT introduction before the graphics sequence, and the run through the anchors with the decision time music still running is basically the same format that was used many times up to and including the UK general election.
