They just had audio issues, Kay sounded like a Dalek.
They also had a testcard show up.
Kay Burley from Times Square now.
I like the backdrop, but there's some messy lighting and cables visible in-studio.

As a temporary studio for a few days with an excellent view of Times Square, it does the job.

Absolutely, it's a contrast to the shiny new Sky Central, but this Times Square setup is great. I also like their position in DC, which I assume is on the roof of the building where Fox News is based? Looks the same direction of view.

Of course it does the job. But there is always a way to improve the aesthetics of any broadcast site. CNN and the American channels maybe go too far but this is an example where they havent gone far enough. If its such an important point of coverage, then put forth a smidge of effort in the "studio" if we are strictly speaking in a presentation sense. If the studio wasnt that important presentation-wise, then they could have been based in a empty meeting room rather than making the effort to find a dramatic backdrop such as TIme Square. I would have quickly mocked up some white or blue covers to enclose those black window frames. Those can be easy made from foamcore. Same thing with the window seat. That would have been a fine place to do a branding opportunity. Even if it was white and had black or grey SkyNews logos along the bottom of the seat. Something. To just shove a desk by the window. Ehhh.. To find such a unique space and not maximize its appeal..... just needs bit more.

Yes I don't care when it's only for 3 days. And what does that studio do for me when there are constantly failures and break downs with those animations/graphics.
I just want the results.

Im not a fan of studios that look out on to a real street. In the winter, it's horrible to weak up to a dark studio background. I remember Daybreak.
Kind of shows how much better the Sky Box would be if it overlooked Central London rather than an empty atrium.
