I feel it's probably a bit too soon to judge the new Sky News studio from just one photo. There may well be other areas of that studio which aren't visible in that photo.

I hope so, for the sake of the viewers.
Just looking at the one image, it feels disappointing.

I hope so too. I think I’m my head I was expecting a studio the same sort of style and layout as Sky Sports News.

It's also exactly in line with all the rumours, and the style that they've gone down with in the glass box, so I'm not sure why anyone is surprised or disappointed.
It doesn't matter how many times people post "sky news needs a large multipurpose hanger, with at least 17 presentation points" when we knew from day one of the new studio happening that that wasn't going to be the case.
I like the simplicity of this design, but I am hoping there's at least another area, like a soft area, or a stand up area with a large screen for displaying things. Otherwise, it will end up looking quite staid and boring before too long, something that I feel has already happened from the glass box.
There isn't a soft area according to what has already been said on this thread.
I personally don't understand so far why they've gone for this studio, it's essentially looking like a clone of the glass box but with screens instead of glass and even smaller and claustrophobic looking
Sky don't need 17 presentation points as the somewhat hyperbolic post above points out, but they do need access to a few and that is one of the reasons that I have preferred the presentation over the last few weeks versus what was being used before it.
As for the comments about the studio similar to Sky Sports News, they have a studio of a similar style but instead of using the potentially endless possibilities of remodeling it, they decided to go for a new small studio so it should be of no surprise they've not gone down that route.
There's going to be little possibility for refreshing these studios too.
I don't dislike the glass box or the new screen box, but the imbalance in investment compared to Sky Sports News is pretty odd... make 'em switch?
Simple - Sky Sports makes a lot of money and Sky News doesn't I expect is behind that.
Sky Sports seem to have a studio more similar to the current Sky News Center which is on it's last full day - still believe that remodeling the old Sky News Center would have been a better idea.
Sky News feels like an afterthought - we're knocking that old building down so we have to find some space for it in the new building wherever we can seems to be the way it is.
They have changed the white interview background from Millbank to a light blue shade of blue now - looks much better even if not perfect - least that is one good thing to come out of this at least!
Not sure if it's final or not as the next interview was a slightly lighter tint.

The weird thing is the situation is almost a complete role reversal of what it has been. Sky News had the bigger studio space back in 1999, whilst Sky Sports News was in a comparatively small studio.
And before anybody says that's the Soccer Saturday studio, it was the same studio used for Sky Sports News, but they never showed beyond a small two-shot that hid the Soccer Saturday logo.

As I said earlier, surely the 'glass box' is the multi-purpose studio for the mainstream programmes and the other one is for the more basic one presenter non-peak hours bulletins? After all that's how it's worked for the last year, the 'old' studio has only been used for one presenter with a locked-off camera
