I would expect them to get the newsroom backdrop by changing what is on the green screen/background

The blue doesn't look too bad in that last screenshot, although the blotchy join between the white and the blue is weird.

I certainly hope that there is more than one presentation point.

I can’t be arsed trawling back to find it, but I interpreted it as being a permanent part of the set rather than just something on a screen. I might be wrong though.

Well if the newsroom is on another floor it's going to have to be on a screen unless they're going to use a painted backdrop like Sky Sports use on the F1 Report for example.

That is the real studio. It is not a mock

They don’t need a new desk position, as they can change the screen graphics. The green screen angle is actually the other side of the camera shot, the screens are actually LED screens.

Is the whole wall made of LED screens or just the bit in the middle?

Interesting...

Sky's Italian division got a beautiful, well-designed and versatile space for TG24 presentation as part of it's move to Milan.

Meanwhile, at the groups HQ, the company's flagship news channel gets a dull, uninspiring grey box with a big telly.

Great!
EastEngland and Stuart gave kudos

Lot of extrapolation going on here from a single photo.

Yes, it shows just one presentation area in a studio. How do we know that's not just one corner of it?

Surely all they need is a simple studio for doing news. For most of last year the 'old' studio was just used for the overnights and other quiet times so this is to replace that, with the 'box' doing the more complicated strands.

Looks like the the whole of both walls in that pic are screens. You can just make out the lines between the different panels (I think). Quite a clever look, and gives them flexibility to do 'big wall' stuff including the weather.

Weather will be done at the greenscreen, and the virtual image will be a screen not too dissimilar to the glass box

I thought we already knew that the newsroom would be virtual? Michelle Dewbury described the new studio as 'swanky' so there must be more to it than that one photo. Unless it was spelling mistake!!

So a boring glass cube, and a 2007 regional news studio.

Sky News continues to decline it seems.
