As I understand it they're moving from their traditional warehouse type buildings into a couple of large purpose built centres. Sky's campus has always been a bit of a sprawl, it developed over years gradually adding low rise buildings on what is essentially a business park.

Ironic that they're going from a warehouse type building to a purpose built studio building whilst the move from the Sky News Studio to the Glass Box makes it looks like they're moving from a purpose built studio to something else.

It doesn't look like a warehouse, it look like they're in a modern office block... which they are

Is that the first time it will be seen on screen, or is it to be used in another slot as well?

I have to say, it's very sleek. Simple design but I like the background - nice to have a bit of blue and red in there!

That's a very poor attempt at trolling JRY although I admire that someones gone to such lengths to create something like that in photoshop

Yep, obviously taken down by the user.

But I can assure you it was there and I've not been sad enough to mock that up on Photoshop! Laughing

Link didn't work when I tried it - Apologies if it is real, just looked like someone replaced the glass with a greenscreen.

I don't like it at all. We've gone from one large versatile studio that could handle all kinds of programs without a problem to basically two boxes judging on that photo.

Unless there is something we are not seeing I have to question the point of this new set. It essentially looks like another glass box with walls instead of glass and a greenscreen which make it feel even more claustraphobic than the glass box itself. It looks very small and tight on room - I really hope that if nothing else the sound is better quality than in the box.

Clearly it's good to see some use of colour but do they have to go for such bright blue and red? I mean if you look at the Glass box, it doesn't use shades that bright and neither do any of the other studios and I just think this is too bright and distracting - I hope that they will tone it down a little bit or it doesn't look so bright on screen.

The best thing about the old studio is it has a feeling of space and you can conduct a number of different events or types of presentation and large groups of people without any issue. but neither of the new studios seems cut out to that based on the photos that we've seen.

One thing is for sure, this is a change of direction and I still think that the current (old) studio is far better but I'll reserve final judgement till I see it on air.

I wondered what happened to studio N6 from TVC. It was just moved on a trailer to Sky studios. Wink
