Prime real estate probably. Doesn't seem right though for a building to be knocked down less than 15 years after it was built.

I think it was an existing building that was retro-fitted into the Sky News Centre.

I can please ask what is going on? I'll put my hand up and say Ive not really been following the whole story? I take it there is new studio complex opening on Tuesday and the current studio as pic is going for good? Plus the new logo will be put in to use?

Basically, yes

According to an article about Sunrise presenter Sarah-Jane Mee, the first sunrise from the new studio will be broadcasted on Wednesday.

So is that the new new studio or the glass box?

Unless there have been yet more technical problems, I believe that it is still Tuesday

The glass box was launched with Sky News Today at 11am on a Monday morning, meaning that the first Sunrise broadcast from the space was the Tuesday morning. I suspect this is probably the case this time as well if Sunrise's first morning is the Wednesday, with whatever other shows that will come from the new studio to begin on the Tuesday.

Tomorrow is the last full day for the old studio, although it won't be decommissioned straight away in case there are issues with the new studios.

That will leave Millbank as the last remnant of the old Sky News era.

I think the BBC kept a back up team at TVC during the launch of studio E at NBH

Still looks a lot better than the glass box and is so much more versatile.

Sky have to get this second new studio right and I hope they do but we'll soon see.

The whole building is supposed to be being knocked down I believe (unfortunately).

Seems to be a waste surely Sky can adopt it to something else.

As I understand it they're moving from their traditional warehouse type buildings into a couple of large purpose built centres. Sky's campus has always been a bit of a sprawl, it developed over years gradually adding low rise buildings on what is essentially a business park.

Now they've got jusy the Sky Studios building: https://www.archdaily.com/382951/harlequin-1-arup-associates and Sky Centre http://www.plparchitecture.com/phone/sky-central.html which is where Sky News is going. I believe the plan is to do a sale/lease back on the site so presumably the unused buildings will be redeveloped by other companies. The Sky News Centre is at one end of the site so ideal for selling off
