Disney may keep it going however. ABC News is currently part of Disney, why not build that up.

Well a few years back Disney Owned ABC NEWS operated a service similar to CBSN and that was shut down because it wasnt profitable. And currently their online streaming operation is basically just live streams from affiliates or ABC owned radio stations and thats only when there is breaking news. Typically its a just a reel of reports fed in from WNT or GMA or other sources. So would they want to start up again. Ehhh... remains to be seen.

That was ABC News Now, and it was a weird beast of a channel. News Briefs at the top and bottom of the hour, 15 minute programmes to follow that, and replayed segments from ABC News TV shows to fill the time up until the next News Brief. You also had GMA Now at 9am ET and World News Now (not the overnight show, but a podcast version of World News Tonight) at 3pm ET. Just felt too disconnected really.

In that case why not Global, to have it sit alongside LBC, maybe replace LBC News with Sky News Radio? Sky already provide news to them.

ITN could snap them up perhaps?

And go around full circle with around 20 years ago when LBC 97.3/ News Direct 1152 was owned and based at 200 Grays Inn Road, before Chysalis Radio brought it and moved it down to Bramley Road.

If you've listened to the output of LBC News 1152 during the weekend daytime, you'll know it is basically
LBC Sky News Audio 1152.
Vast amounts of Sunrise and Sky News Today are hacked to pieces and played out hour after hour, only interspursed with the presenter linking it all together, repetitive adverts for tooth implants, PPI and travel news telling you about a spillage of drainage fluid on the North Circular, and a cow on the Northern Line between Burnt Oak and Collindale.

To be fair to LBC London News as it's been called for over a year, while there is Sky News copy played, they also have journalists from Global's Newsroom and is pretty decent for regular weather and travel reports.

The station has also beaten the well resourced BBC Radio London despite being an AM/DAB only station.

I do wonder how much of that is down to RAJAR confusion between the two LBCs. The rolling news side if LBC never really took off and got swapped onto MW as soon as Chrysalis took over.

It just seems odd that a station with zero publicity can have such an increase in audience

Poor coverage of Green's resignation on Sky News now, talked over a static image of him for a few minutes, went to a break, had Faisal Islam talking to Murnaghan in the studio, then he told us to go on the website for more details as they're showing a documentary about the Arctic.

You would expect the documentary to be put on hold. I guess not many are watching a news channel at 9pm mid week in prime time?

Edit: interestingly, the BBC just said the same thing, go online for now.

One of the problems with having all these recorded programmes in the schedule is they are going to have to go until 10pm now before they can bring any updates on the resignation of Damian Green

What happened to 'World View'? Was tonights show cancelled last minute or off for Christmas break?

Presumably there is something going on behind the scenes for this hour long documentary on Sky News at 9pm to be scheduled?

What is to update though - the resignation is done, the reasons have been covered in depth in recent weeks and any replacement won't be named until tomorrow at the earliest.

The breaking news alerts on people's mobiles and tablets will prompt them to switch on Sky News. After receiving that alert, people may be slightly confused to see a 60 minute long recorded programme.
