I think the lower desk looks awkard. Also when they used to stand, the desk didn’t seem high enough either.

Remember the time when they used to present from the old island, and because of how it was setup, they had to also use a glass table, and I seem to remember Anna Botting was caught saying it was a silly broadcast position or something like.

I mean, it looks like an office. A place of work

Which is what it is.

I really can’t see what people are getting so upset about. It isn’t going to be seen on screen and seems perfectly modern and functional.

The only similarities are, it's a room, with people, tv's, desks and chairs. Im astonished you think it's a copy.

I guess irony is dead then these days. That was the point I was making. A newsroom is a newsroom it hasn't changed it does the same thing just in 1977 they didn't get the furniture from Ikea

Is something happening on Wednesday?

Saw a tweet from a producer about saying goodbye to the studio today which has since been deleted.

Might have been a mistake though.

I imagine in line with most businesses that some staff will be starting leave through to the New Year either today or in the next few days so it could quite easily be someones last time producing output in the current studio (especially if they are involved in Westminster or City coverage) even if the the new one doesn't open for a good few weeks.

Staff at Sky News have piled into the debate over the broadcaster's potential takeover, warning the competition watchdog that blocking the deal would trigger 500 job losses and deliver a "deeply damaging" blow to journalism in the UK.
The group has told the Competition and Markets Authority (CMA) that the closure of the channel would "damage media plurality" in the UK by leaving the BBC as the only provider of 24-hour news.
The move comes after Sky said it would shut down Sky News if it proved the main barrier standing in the way of 21st Century Fox's £11.7bn bid to buy the remaining 61pc of the broadcaster it does not already own.

The deal is currently being scrutinised by the competition watchdog on the grounds of media plurality and broadcasting standards.
The letter addressed to CMA case officer Sabrina Basran has been signed by 175 staff, including All Out Politics presenter Adam Boulton, business presenter Ian King and special news correspondent Alex Crawford.

The group wrote: "We are a group of 175 Sky News employees who have decided to write to you as an interested party in the 21st Century Fox/Sky merger.
"We have serious concerns about what the potential closure of Sky News would mean not only for us, but for wider society. In the first instance, scrapping the channel would result in redundancy for more than 500 people.

"The loss of those jobs would be deeply damaging for journalism in the UK."

I noticed this article posted to Digital Spy. It seems Sky staff are taking the close down threat seriously.
