Sky News America? Utilizing ABC News/Sky News UK/Sky News AU as the infrastructure......just a thought.

So this would mean Disney own Fox News, ABC News and Sky News. Do they really need two large (unless they own even more) news channels in the US?

Fox News is surely the more negative brand if one was going to go/be re-branded.

Edit: I see the deal doesn't include Fox News or sports.

In that case, Sky News America sounds more like it.

No chance of them using the Sky brand in the US. If they were desperate to launch a news channel they'd do it under a brand that's already known there like ABC rather than introduce a new one

Going back to the press preview, couldn't they lower the glass box desk to coffee table hight and put the sofas either side? Basically like the current press preview but the desk at coffee table hight would replace the tiny coffee table that is currently there.

Isn't there a sofa space that's already part of the new set up? I've never seen it on air, mind.

That has been suggested on here numerous times before... Rolling Eyes

Citations? I have never seen that idea on here. I may be wrong, but can you quote when this has supposedly been said

For a start, this from the 10 December...
Even lowering the desk in the glass box to coffee table height and some soft chairs would go some way to making the Press Preview look less 'formal'. I seem to recall an insider on here saying the desk broke after a couple of weeks use and wouldn't go down to coffee table height anymore. Maybe they can at least sort that out?

As some have said, changing the lighting for the PP would also help.

There are circular sofas in Sky Central itself, sometimes seen on Swipe. Don't think it would be the most practical for regular live broadcasts however - always seems a little noisy.

I also mentioned it when they first started broadcasting the PP from the glass box. Hence why a response was given (from Skygeek at the time) to say the desk can no longer be lowered to coffee table height because it was broken.

It was also mentioned by someone else in-between times as well. That makes numerous times.

Hopefully, they'll have fixed the desk and we'll get the more relaxed look for some interviews that we had at launch.
