I think the glass box looks really good, and I disagree that it doesn’t work for Kay’s show - if anything, that’s the time it’s used the best.

So the fact that it has a nice camera angle for a few seconds at the TOTH is more important than the guests have in general looked far less relaxed than in the shoebox in the last few weeks.

I have seen more relaxed and laid back and at ease guests in the shoebox in Kay's show in the last 3 weeks than I have in the whole time the glass box has been on air.

But long as we see a nice camera for a few seconds, who cares about the guests eh? Maybe they can even have a show just about camera angles in place of the guests?

Even lowering the desk in the glass box to coffee table height and some soft chairs would go some way to making the Press Preview look less 'formal'. I seem to recall an insider on here saying the desk broke after a couple of weeks use and wouldn't go down to coffee table height anymore. Maybe they can at least sort that out?

As some have said, changing the lighting for the PP would also help.

It would certainly be an improvement, the problem with the PP in the glass box now is it still looks and feels like a panel job interview most of the time and just the mood of it has seemed less relaxed.

I've seen the same reviewers generally in the old studio as in the glass box over the past few weeks and there is definitely an increase in laughter/jokes and more relaxed conversation since the switch back.

They used the same ultra bright lighting for the PP in the old studio at first which was horrific, suggesting they see the bright light as better, sure they eventually went back to the usual lighting setup from last year, but you'd have to wonder why they went down the blinding light in the first place in Studio A.

Research has shown that bright white lights late at night cause a negative impact on sleep.

Research has also shown that at this time of night there is also a negative impact on the quality of posts.

Alright love, calm down.

Heard that the studio will have more in common with former Studio B rather than Studio A or the glass box.

Green screen studio by the sounds of it.

Oh, it gets even worse. Lets hope not!

From what I have heard it may well back up what Freddie has posted on the forum.

Remember he said that they still like blue but 'it's more complicated than that', and the newsroom 'may appear on the background screens'

Both of those things say Green Screen to me as well.

Hi all, just seen this on Twitter from a Sky News producer, which would suggest confirmation of a green screen studio?

Well I have to say that doesn't make me exactly enthusiastic unless it's so fancy it's not like others.

Can't help thinking a purpose built versatile studio to replace the current versatile purpose built studio would have been a far better option then replacing a proper studio with a glass box vanity project and a virtual studio.

Hopefully I'm proven wrong though.

The new studio has only one component that's green-screen. The rest is a "proper" set.

How big is that component?
