If it is, to say I'm underwhelmed is a major understatement.

It's a newsroom, and looks like a newsroom, what else is it meant to be?

Although I agree I like the current setup.

Kay now sampling bubbles of Champagne at the shoebox.

This is the kind of thing that would never work in something as sterile the glass box but does on a soft set.

Wine from a glass box is bound to taste nicer than from a shoebox.

If the newsroom isn’t going to be seen on screen, then does it really matter?

From the sounds of it, you’ll never actually see it on air.

Hopefully the studio will be a lot more interesting...

Is this the new newsroom?

Yes it is! We are all moving over gradually. Still a work in progress. Having windows is a novelty!

I'm surprised, it doesn't exactly look that modern save for the screens, actually looks older than the current one, but you're right it won't show on screen, guess they spent so much on the design of the glass box the design budget was empty for here....

I might personally prefer working in the offices that have a slightly more open plan feel to them like the BBC's in London but to me the offices look perfectly suitable for what they need to do. It's also a little difficult to judge them from just that one photo so difficult to know for sure.

The glass box is quite clinical at times and having a 'soft area' where they could present some segmants from (such as Sunrise) would be really good. However, I don't quite get the amount of 'hate' the new studio is getting. It is quite bland compared to the old one but to me it is also quite modern and fresh and the old one is looking quite dated and old in places. I'm sure Sky could have done better, equally from my point of view there is nothing significant wrong with it either.

The new secondary set isn't IN the newsroom - it's downstairs.

Although the newsroom may appear on the background screens in the new set

So it looks like Grey is the new white as far as Sky News is concerned?

Noticed solid greys cropping up in place of the white gradient backgrounds on the website, maybe an indicator of the future direction of travel?

Maybe someone is reading this as it's back to old colour scheme now!

I don't see any difference on the website? hasn't it been this design for ages?

The site in 2010 didn't really reflect the entire design in use at the time.
