The threat of Sky News being closed is an empty threat then if she's signed a 5 year deal.

Even Sky have stated closure would be a last resort, they would prefer to sell Sky News to somebody, in which case I would think Kay would be "sold" with it. And to add, a single presenter I doubt would enter the picture at such a level.

I do believe that earlier in the thread someone mentioned Christmas trees. I don't believe that there will be any Christmas trees if they are green Wink

Tom McLeod is working on a new project for Sky News to launch in a few weeks and will present the 3pm to 6.30pm shift tomorrow in place of Gamal.

Note that in recent weeks Tom has replaced Gamal's marked in slot on a Friday and has recently been doing that slot a lot when before it was almost always Gamal filling in for Kay which could be an indicator of a future direction of travel if Kay is moving.

Please bear in mind that Tom is freelance!

Surprised just how many people have commented they prefer the old studio, Andrew Pierce just said in the press preview it's nice to be back there.

Technical Rehearsals in the new studios are ongoing this week, to set up shots and graphics and establish templates according to Stephen Dixon.

If it is, to say I'm underwhelmed is a major understatement.

I really like the current set-up in the studio, sure sometimes there is background noise since the election refurbishment, and some of the individual screens that make up the big screen seem to have uneven colour to the others but realistically it's felt so much more like a news station the last couple of weeks with less distractions, better sound and a more informal feel to interviews and the benefit of a 'soft' set.

Also everything feels more coherent, the graphics, studio, Millbank, Ian King and using the blue Westminster background instead of the white one has been a large improvement whereas before it all felt a little bit disjointed, the only thing that is really out of place now is the TOTH which is going on a totally different colour scheme.

Kay now sampling bubbles of Champagne at the shoebox.

This is the kind of thing that would never work in something as sterile the glass box but does on a soft set.
