The threat of Sky News being closed is an empty threat then if she's signed a 5 year deal.
Even Sky have stated closure would be a last resort, they would prefer to sell Sky News to somebody, in which case I would think Kay would be "sold" with it. And to add, a single presenter I doubt would enter the picture at such a level.
Note that in recent weeks Tom has replaced Gamal's marked in slot on a Friday and has recently been doing that slot a lot when before it was almost always Gamal filling in for Kay which could be an indicator of a future direction of travel if Kay is moving.

If it is, to say I'm underwhelmed is a major understatement.
I really like the current set-up in the studio, sure sometimes there is background noise since the election refurbishment, and some of the individual screens that make up the big screen seem to have uneven colour to the others but realistically it's felt so much more like a news station the last couple of weeks with less distractions, better sound and a more informal feel to interviews and the benefit of a 'soft' set.
Also everything feels more coherent, the graphics, studio, Millbank, Ian King and using the blue Westminster background instead of the white one has been a large improvement whereas before it all felt a little bit disjointed, the only thing that is really out of place now is the TOTH which is going on a totally different colour scheme.
