The weather just now was so far zoomed out for some reason?

So much so the day name graphic was almost in the middle of the screen?

Nothing new. Apart from maybe they haven't adjusted the graphics back for that screen. I'm sure it used to be so they could show the weather person's legs.

There was nobody in vision though.

Ok, I only saw Sunrise with a presenter.

I like the bright blue lighting on the balcony above the big screen, something that simple would make the area either side of the screen look a lot nicer in the glass box.

I think in regards to the glass box, all it needs is some nice lighting and a nice well made background for the video screen.

I don't remember the sofas having red backs when they were last used for the PP?

They have always been red.

Maybe the passing of time hasn't helped, but they look garish. Otherwise, a nice temporary return of a soft set to Sky News.

I like the old studio, the coverage from it for Sunrise and all day has been very good and from a presentation point of view apart from the issues with the weather has been really good.

However News at Ten was really weird. the shot of Tom in front of the Screen but at the side of the desk rather than behind showed about 4-5 microphones all attached around the desk, after about five minutes he was back behind the desk and not in front of the screen for the rest of NaT and I have to admit it looked much better. The new desk doesn't work with the presenter and screen in view at the same time.

Press Preview also has a problem with colour clash now and doesn't look quite right, but remember this is the first time the PP has come from the old studio since it was refreshed earlier in the year.

In short, like the general output today, but it's clear that the re-design of the Sky News Center was done for the election only since it feels far less versatile than it was before since I assume that there was never an intention of using it for what it is now being used for again.

The lighting and screen graphics are different now to what it was the last time that set was used.

Remember that set was changed for the election and this is the first time it has been used since for a Press Preview, it's not the same as it was before so it will look different.

Furthermore, the previewers and the presenter have switched their position as the previewers used to have the newsroom behind them and not the gallery.

There may well be a technical reason for that as the studio layout changed ahead of the election and some equipment was moved and others removed, maybe Tom can only see a screen etc on that side?

He's looked once or twice in that direction to something in distance.
