I believe it is. I think they were working on the sky cinema bit ir something

I don't believe any significant work is going on in the Atrium. Stephen Dixon mentioned on a Insta Live that the "powers that be" prefer the screen view now, so I'm not expecting the atrium view to come back anytime soon.

That's so, so boring. What's the point of the glass box, in that respect? Terrible decision.

I guess someone's vision just hasn't worked out....

It's excellent news they got rid of the attrium view, another step in the right direction and a gimmick and vanity view that really needed to go for what is supposed to be a serious news channel.

Slowly it seems Sky realise that the glass box that existed on day 1 was nowhere near suitable environment for a news channel, the lighting, layout, desk views, backgrounds are all vastly better

The new swirly backgrounds look worse then the slick old background. Looks like they've been knocked up in powerpoint in a morning.

So you move to a much hyped glass box in order to show your grand building and then after a few months turn the view around to show us a screen and an upstairs hallway. Makes sense.....

I know that this may come as a HUGE shock to you and it's took Sky a little while to realise it too, but Sky News is supposed to be a News Channel, not a place to show off.

I've just had to remove a lot of posts.

1. EastEngland has been warned. There was absolutely no need to derail this thread as much as you did. You made your point then continued to make it over and over.
2. SkyNewsGeek – correcting wrong information is one thing but if you don’t use the RTP system to report posts then you’ll be banned. You posting 12 times continuing the spat is not good.
3. SkyUser23 has been banned, I’ve no interest in reading trashy posts from a new member.
4. For anyone else who was involved in this latest spat, if it continues again then further action will be taken.

Thank you to those of you who chose to RTP the posts and not get involved directly.

Live at five with Jeremy – your post was removed. This isn’t a presenter thread and I don’t know how much more explicit I can be about that.

(Edited to separate the Live at five point from the arguments)

Your point about reporting posts is entirely fair. It's also worth noting that you've banned the person who made the original misleading post, which, while it wasn't my intent, is a good way to put a full-stop at the end of that part of the discussion. Thanks, guys - see you around. Smile

Bit random on the sports bulletin right now. Gemma Nash was on this morning and this appears to be a recorded bulletin. The graphics even showed today's Premier League games as fixtures. Is there some sort of issue with SNN at the moment? If so Claudia-Liza didn't seem to be aware as she threw to the bulletin by mentioning the latest results.

EDIT - I'm watching on YouTube, I guess they use the pre-recorded version when they don't have international rights for the football previews?

graphics a bit weird tonight, keep hearing the swish sound for transitions but no transitions appearing on the screen. Seems to be effecting all swishes

Edit: fixed now

I honestly cannot understand why the Westminster backdrop was dropped in favour of this plain white screen we're seeing now. Even more lacking in design than what we saw following the move to Sky Central, before the Westminster view was introduced. It's just unpleasant to look at.

They might as well just sit in front of a wall painted with brilliant white from BandQ. Even that would look better though, as presumably it would be lit with proper lighting so it wasn't so bright. Very Happy
