But it can also be argued it's stupid you need the Variety + Box Sets to get Sky News in HD on Sky+/SkyQ when anyone can get it on the website and the app.

Sky's policy on HD access for Sky News is dated. HD should no longer be a premium for news channels for UK and Ireland and as such should be at least FTV to all customers.
I use my Now TV Box or Fire TV to watch the channel in 720p via the app, although that and the YouTube stream don't have the HD DOG unlike the satellite and cable versions.

I could understand somewhat if Sky didn't allow HD access without a sky subscription, but it's odd they want their own customners to pay extra for something that is broadcast for free on their website.

Sky News has been available for many years on OSN and Etisalat Elife. The stream has worked since they launched it but must have been blocked in the past 2 weeks while I have been back in the UK.
Ah well, back to watching g BBC World.

Any idea for the blocking? Is there the possibility of the channel being added to local satellite & cable and the carriage contracts require it (kind of like how AJE disappeared when AJAM launched).
As for the ads all I saw (maybe there's a N. American AppleTV feed) were for a health company and a middle eastern airline.

Tweaked TOTH at 9pm which appeal to fail.
The image on the Smartphone jumped out to cover the whole screen but was just a black screen.

Really don't like the old studio tweaks.

That new wall to the left of the screen looks completely out of place, the studio in general now looks like it's got an identity crisis with half of it looking like it used to and the other half trying to look like the glass box.

Last week it was the same minus the panel next to the screen which for me looks out of place, Just think there is too much of a clash, replace all the panels or none.

Looks lovely, apart from the desk. Lots of white but lit nicely and complimented by nice shades of blue. Much better than the glass box in terms of look and feel.

Not keen on now the presenters have to keep ducking their heads for the weather shot on Sunrise, and the messy little screen they've now got by one of the pillars, on the floor.
