Not the biggest fan - I have to say.
This reminds me of that horrible disjointed change we had with the branding mid 2006, when the newswall got a completely random refresh, with the rest of the graphics and branding remaining largely unchanged...

Don't get me wrong, I love that the bosses have actually *allowed* the Sky Creative team to show off their work, and that there's more to 'simplistic branding' than a boring silver background and a few drop shadows, but this change, for me, is still a little boring.
It works for Sky News Sunrise. It's curvy, light and bright - reminds me of Sunrise on Channel 7 in Australia somehow. However, I don't think it works for the rest of the day - the blue is a little too light and fun, and as I mentioned with my point above, it doesn't fit with the rest of the brand. For Sunrise, a standalone programme, it's fine, but just not for the other programming.
On the studio, I really, really, really hope that desk position set up is not permanent. From 6am until 3pm we had the same angle, and the background behind Colin and Jayne actually got worse - it was a white wall with a red strip of lighting behind it. Terrible. I actually missed seeing those lovely shots of Sky Central - I've always liked the Sunrise desk position, so hope we see Sky Central again soon.
I'm excited to see what changes might come in with a refreshed logo (one like Sky Sports) - I don't hold out much hope, this coming from somebody who actually likes the glass box and the current branding, but just feels that it could be pushed that little further to actually try to recapture the spirit of Sky News.
