I prefer the new position of the desk. Hopefully this will mean the screen being utilised properly during the overnight bulletins.

Overnight hasn't been in the glass box for a few weeks now.

See we back to awkard turning towards the screen to cross to reporters again, and the graphic on the big screen looks a bit cheap. The best view that used to be behind Jayne and Colin has now been replaced by white walls.

I hope Kay's show still has the same standing format.

Kay's not on this week if I remember correctly.

I just watched some footage of the glass box from the first day, very noticeable how different the glass box is now, more lighting, more colour and light elements than were there at the start by far.

Have to say it's much better now though (not counting todays changes). It feels like Sky News, whereas the first few weeks and months it felt like some bland office with no sense of identity.

I'm not watching Sky News much these days but I've just tuned in and the biggest difference I can notice since the launch of the glass box is the big improvement in acoustics. The echo was horrendous at the beginning but it seems that they've found some solution for it. Do we have a launch date yet for the new second studio? I believe it was due to be open now but was delayed.

I think the original blue lighting that they added to the glass box was best, just blue uplighters at the back (think only lasted a day?). Nice effect, nothing OTT.

Not keen on the blocks of red and blue outside.

In terms of internal workings, the new studio itself is secondary to actually getting the new newsroom up-and-running... in that a second studio is needed, but without a new newsroom, the team has nowhere to work. They should launch on or around the same date, and that projected date is known internally, but obviously, I can't talk about it yet.

Can we expect the new studio to continue the same design trends as the glass box and baby shard? Also will the new space be a similar setup in terms of size an layout to Sky Sports News studio?

I can't comment on that.

I have a hunch it'll be similar to the planned new integrated Fox News Channel newsroom/small studio.

If Jonathan is only reading headlines now and then does that means Isabel will have the same role on a weekend?

I just feel that when Sunrise relaunched, Sarah-Jane was the face of the weekday version but Stephen and Isabel seemed to have the same billing on the weekend editions.
