I don't watch rolling news or live TV much these days, so I can't comment much on the state of the graphics beyond checking it out during a relaunch. But every time I turn it onto Sky News, the one thing that stands out is the echo in the glass box. I know many have said stuff about it, but it is the biggest "problem" compared to any of the other things like Top of The Hour sequences, or voice-over only weather etc.
The second presenter is relegated to a couple of appearances at the screen per hour and joins the sports presenter at the other side of the desk to discuss the papers before the first break
Desk stays in the same position as in that pic above throughout the whole hour. I don't know if that works for the paper review as the second reviewer is obscuring part of the screen sat opposite Sarah but other than the headline we can't really read the story anyway

I always thought that the new desk looked more like an interview for a job when someone sits at it opposite the presenter rather than a news channel desk and it appears Sky News have also come to that conclusion. by the hack they are using this morning by having it diagonal to try and make it look a little less formal. Thing is, it isn't and will never be as good as simply having a round desk because the guests right now obscure the screen.
That being said the background graphics for Sunrise is quite nice and the international weather graphics are now without a doubt much cleaner and easier on the eye than the old one.
This however, is a complete mess, having a picture under the graphic looks awful and clashes one or other please not both:
The new Sunrise graphic looks nice, good to see some more interesting design elements.
The glass box is definitely growing on me, but I still think it needs some monitors somewhere in the background and some more coloured lighting.
A round desk wouldn't really work in the glass box. I don't think there's any issues with the desk, the fact it can be turned to face so many angles makes it pretty unique in my opinion.
I actually like the wavy graphics, it's just that it clashes with the background picture, especially when it's the same colour. It might work better with different colour pictures.
The glitches at 10.01 were fixed when using same graphics at 10.31, however is there no way they can rotate the desk and move the camera so the screen is shot straight on rather than at a slight tilt it is now?

Interesting choice. Not sure if I like the curves as it breaks the consistently linear look of the current batch of graphics, which I love. If I were to have made a change, I would have maybe ditched the cool blues in favor of something a little sunnier, but overall, it still looks nice.
