quite a few new camera angles being used tonight?

I noticed this angle on the 5pm bulletin this afternoon that I haven't seen before.

Those angles have been there right from the start so nothing new!

Does that included interviews where the view is down on to the hall?

Yes. Today this has been the case during an interview with Enda Brady.

We were from Millbank the other day in order to rehearse a few new camera angles.

Is the blue lighting in the glass box new today?

Not seen it before that's for sure, not quite sure on it truth be told, it does look more like Sky News though, but it spoils the blue light boxes in the back which looked better when it was white.

I remember when everything was white on Day 1 and looking back through the thread people were shot down when they said it was too white and needed color, it's changed a lot since then.

Personally I'd stick with the white for Sunrise, I think for the morning you want something bright and lively, but in the evening the blue light works very well for things like the press preview, you want a cooler colour tone for that instead of bright white.

Overnight is still an issue in the glass box though, it's just too white, you don't want to see that late at night so it's best that they come from the old studio, I'm not even sure sitting in front of the screen is good for late night stuff, I'd be tempted to try out a few positions without the screens, but using the background lighting, maybe a bit like the position that Anna sits in before introducing the press preview with some lighting and background behind her.

I just realized that if I was an overnight anchor at Sky News I would feel lonely being so far removed from everyone else. It's not a scared thing but rather being away from the hustle and bustle that's a building or two away. There can't be much going on in Sky Central as it's more of an office building - maybe the occasional cleaning crew?
