I read somewhere that one of the newspapers a good few years ago actually tried to request an interview with one of Larry's predecessors, I think it was Humphrey - they'd apparently done something feature wise for some reason with regards to the Chief Mouser to the Cabinet position.
I dare say Larry decides himself whether he wants to be petted or picked up and seems an opinionated little fellow, based on that wonderful video of him reacting in shock to actually seeing a policeman on the street.
Only in this country can Lord Buckethead and Elmo stand alongside the Prime Minister for election and we love a cat being in Number 10. Brilliant.
I recently saw a picture of Sky's Darren McCaffrey patting Larry. Now I know the Cameron's weren't fond of Larry. But couldn't people petting and picking him up be a possible safety risk to those in No 10?
Can the reporters pet or pickup Larry?
