Looks good overall, but there's a distinct lack of dressing for TV throughout the office spaces. Almost as if the studio has been designed based on how it looks from the office, where it should've been the other way around.
Having the break room replete with refrigerator in centre shot is probably the worst example.

Yep - it feels like this studio is really all about showing the channel off to corporate visitors. The fact that the LED ticker is on the outside of the studio rather than anywhere visible in the background says it all.

Really? Surely the fact that the ticker is on screen all day for TV viewers negates the need for a duplicate ticker you won't be able to read in the background anyway. I thought, if it indeed has any functional purpose at all, that the physical ticker was for employees in Sky Central to glance at the headlines or a breaking news story (must be very eye catching when it turns yellow for breaking news).
My main complaint is the usage of the big screen - why do down the line interviews have to fill the entire screen? It looks comical at times.
Home Secretary my goodness you're huge, please don't eat us!
I think with Kay its more a case of her being fiercely protective of Sky News. She always positively promotes changes, be that editorial changes (such as the Sky Debate, which has become an integral part of her programme in the last few months) or changes to presentation.
I have to say, the set is growing on me today. The acoustics seem to be a bit better, and I love Kay's backdrop. The backdrop from 5pm is also nice - I think the backdrop used from 11-3 is awful, though. Jayne and Colin's background is the underside of a set of stairs.
Sky News announces the US Election plans and will be sending Adam Boulton, Kay Burley, Gillian Joseph, Sarah-Jane Mee, Dermot Murnaghan and Jeremy Thompson to New York.
