Sure, mistakes and issues happen, but the level of issues/mistakes on Sky News over the past few weeks has been well above what you see on other broadcasters and Sky News traditionally, it doesn't fill you with great confidence for election night.

Oh give over. What are we on now... page 20 of your constant criticism?
Mistakes happen. When it comes to wipes not working, animations not firing - it's not the end of the world. 10 seconds of a mis-pressed button in the gallery is perhaps a little more unforgivable, but not worthy of constant droaning and moaning about it.

If you don't like discussing presentation on a forum about presentation then maybe you should stop posting? It's clearly not the place for you.
My complaint is not that there are problems tonight, it's the fact that Sky's production level and the number of issues they have are far higher than before and below all of the other broadcasters that I watch and it just appears sloppy and should not be happening for weeks at a time.
Hopefully Sky will improve their quality control and production standards because it's way below the standard they used to set in the past and when attention to detail starts to disappear in any companies output of their product that is generally when the product starts to go downhill.

I'd almost guarantee a technical failure during election night, with 300 OBs being attempted the chance is very high, doesn't mean they aren't working as hard as they can.

Of course, my point is that I don't have any confidence in the studio coverage or graphics, especially after the many graphic issues and cuts to empty studio shots that we've seen in recent weeks including the famous UKIP WIN one.

This is almost as bad as someone cataloguing the numerous automated camera issues on the News Channel.
While I was concerned about the loss of some of the old heavyweights and the change to the glass box studio, the most important thing hasn't changed, the journalism has stayed at the same level, despite using some younger presenters to present them.
Manchester coverage was spot on, the May/Corbyn debate, again generating publicity. The pres/graphics are a side issue to what has been a miraculous recovery for Sky News.

I take it Channel 4 use a different feed? I wonder what the person was doing (or trying to do) when the wrong button was pressed, something to do with cameras if Sky were controlling them?
I don't think anyone noticed, they were more interested in this:

I suspect what happened is that C4 had a 'clean' feed from Osterley with Sky putting the ticker underneath for Sky News.

Yep. Not Sky News MISTAKES . Someone pressing the wrong button, or a wipe not appearing, does not constitute what the presentation of the channel is. The presentation of the channel in the context of this forum is the graphical elements, the design, the look of the channel, not the very small number of times when a graphic doesn't animate or some other insubstantial mistake or glitch happens. It has been addressed on here already - there are some known issues that are being worked on. You come across, in the nicest possible way, as an absolute knob with zero understanding of working within this industry or environment.
This forum is about Presentation, if you want to talk about Journalism maybe you should try another forum rather than driving the thread off-topic?
Do you see the big letters at the top saying
Sky News PRESENTATION
Maybe you didn't see them so I thought I'd point them out to you.

On a news channel, journalism plays an important part in the overall feel of the channel output, so is as important as the set or graphics when discussing the presentation.
