Just seen a Sky News Tonight TItle Card and a swish at 8.41 during the Pledge, most odd. Human error or an automated graphic set to go off at a specific time?

If they have switched to automated graphics that are pre-planned it may explain the oddness with graphics over the last week or two with timings etc.

There's an underlying problem. Thank you for your continued (or should that be continuous?) custom. Since you're sticking around, would you like a cup of tea? Maybe a pull-out sofa to kip on? Laughing

I'm actually only watching about 30-40 minutes a day most days, just seems when I flick on I always see glitches - for example Flicked on at midnight to catch headlines and saw a vote 2017 graphic get stuck on the screen only to see a weird issue where a red strap and a vote 2017 one corrupt into each other and then go black and then disappear!

Hope it gets sorted out soon, bad time for these issues to crop up with an election around the corner, very weird to see as well, think I've seen more graphical issues in last week or two than I've seen in last year!

Some slight sound issues this morning, on all out politics it went silent for about four/five seconds and just now music cut in while someone was talking.

SkyGeek - I'm not having a go at you or Sky News, I just don't understand what kind of problem that you can be having that is going on for so long, I understand that these problems happen from time to time, they happen on all channels, but these issues have been going on for over a week now and show no signs of being resolved and it's impossible to turn on Sky News right now without seeing some glitch or other, previously I would be hard pressed to see as many things in a year that I have seen in the last week.

I've only been watching for 20 minutes today, and I've already seen random sting noises whilst people are talking for no apparent reason, people being cut off mid sentence, Gillian introducing a report and cutting to the report before she is even finished introducing it and weird graphics issue, Gillian then introduces coverage from the ITV leaders debate, not seeming to know the item is about that and getting confused in the link, and then you have the "Pictures" graphic in the top right keep disappearing then coming back which is distracting.

All I can tell you is... we know... we're working on it, and we're not complacent about it.

AFAIU Sky News is currently operating from Westminster and the Glass Box. Preparing the old "Tesco" studio for the General Election, and building a new newsroom/studio for operation by the end of summer.

There will probably be some glitches and issues as they remove equipment from the day to day running of the channel, for testing Election graphics. And there could be transmission issues as work is done on transferring cables and other elements.

I could have this all wrong, but I think it is forgivable if any of what I am guessing is true.

You are exactly correct. I'm presently sat behind the old Sunrise shoebox, and to my right is what's effectively a building site.

So, Niall Paterson is presenting The Campaign with Sophy Ridge branding - couldn't they have edited the graphics? Looks abit stupid if you ask me.

Common in America to have the main anchor name as part of the programme branding, even when a dep presenter is covering and of course Joanna Gosling presents Victoria Derbyshire on a Friday without changing the name.

Incidentally Niall is the Friday presenter.

In America they always say stuff like "This is the Campaign with Sophy Ridge, I'm <name> Sophie is on vacation"
