I do think long before the election Sky News has felt a bit unloved. I find it a very boring channel to watch now - they get energised a bit by the live breaking stories but presentation wise beyond that it's nowhere near as visually interesting as it was a few years back - and considering it's nto really changed too much for the last 5 years or so it's actually quite dated now.
No ones questioning the journalism. The journalism is stronger than ever. It's just strange that the coverage - so far - is very different in both ambition and tone to previous elections.
I guess this in part what was referred to by John Ryley in the article 2 pages back about taking the showbiz out of the channel. I just worry that they've maybe gone too far the other way.

I think that certainly has a lot to do with it... and frankly, he's right... the three-presenter-let's-get-up-and-wander-round-the-set era might have indulged pres fetishists, but the overall product suffered.
The thing is with the current election graphics (straps and splitscreen background) I cannot see any relation to an election in the United Kingdom other than the parties' colours. Usually they always had something which represented the UK such as those alterations of the Union Jack.
Kay and Adam hosting the 'spin room' coverage after tomorrow's debate in Salford, which Sky are simulcasting - unlike in 2010 when if I recall correctly ITV's was the only debate not available to other broadcasters to carry live.
