I was watching on BFMTV and France 2 and they held back. The storming of the supermarket wasn't shown on BFMTV for at least ten minutes after it happened.
Sky news certainly suggested they were told not to broadcast images of the preparation of the operation at Dammartin. As soon as it's happening, there's not much you can do to stop it.Martin Brunt has suggested the operations were supposed to be simultaneous but the one in Paris was delayed for some reason.
They had interfered with mobile telephone signals at both locations, and hacked into the CCTV at the supermarket. It would be sensible to suggest they could cut any tv signal into the buildings.
BFMTV showed the supermarket operation on delay. I think it's safe to assume that if the hostage taker did have TV in there, it was probably not tuned to Sky News or the BBC and they could be a bit freer with their coverage.
Just now Sky News have reported that the operation at the supermarket was delayed while police asked reporter nearby to turn off their cameras that were providing live feeds.

I'd use the term 'restricted the use of' , it's something our authorites can do here with our mobile networks, and I wouldn't expect France to be any different. Anyway good to learn delays etc were in place
We now know why BFMTV have also been covering this very low key, they were in contact with one of the brothers as well as the hostage taker in the supermarket.
Extracts from the interviews have been played on-air in the last few minutes.
Andrew Wilson now bolstering the anchor team in Paris joining Kay and Jeremy. Great reporting throughout the past 48 hours from anchors and correspondents. I've been watching both Sky and CNN and Sky's coverage has been far superior than that of CNN. Sky have utilised their resources to the maximum and have been on the ball throughout.
Also explains why Sky's initial pictures of the supermarket operation were from CBS if they weren't being broadcast live by any French channels.
The only thing that's concerned me today is the assumption that Hayat Boumeddiene was in the supermarket, when it was never confirmed that she was. This all started when Sky News showed the Wanted notice for yesterday's shooting but this wasn't properly explained on air that that's what it was. She is still unaccounted for - there has been speculation on social media that she escaped with the hostages but it seems likely she was never there in the first place.
Sky kept her picture on screen for a long time, next to that of the other suspect who was killed there, whenever there was a shot from Paris.

I sometimes feel CNN is too keen to put everything into context far too quickly rather than just reporting on events as they unfold - Sky are good at putting the news first and the 'analysis' second.
