Having had chance to properly watch the new double headed sky news today, I have I say it does work very well. Colin and Jayne make a very good team. Hopefully it will be rolled out to the rest of the channel in the future. The only downside being the cramped studio space they are currently presenting in but hopefully this will also be changed in the near future.

I don't think it needs to happen elsewhere in the schedule, personally. You're right that it works very well, but it's suited to the time slot and the slightly lighter agenda they seem to have adopted at that time.

The single-headed presentation during the rest of the day works just as well I think.

Very surprised to see no special programme overnight covering the American midterms. I was looking forward to getting a comparison to the BBCs offering. They just have one additional correspondent in the US (Joey Jones) who is in actual fact covering for Amanda Walker who is on maternity leave. Very poor showing not having at least Adam Boulton in the studio overnight with a panel or Martin Stanford/Sophy Ridge showing the results at the big screen. Have Sky done a special programme in the past for midterms?

Sky have done midterms in the past, most recently 2010 with Martin Stanford at the wall and Adam Boulton in Washington. However, Hannah Tallett tweeted saying to join her for the results during Sky World News which usually starts at 03:00 UK Time (conveniently half an hour before the BBC's coverage is due to finish). I'm surprised at Sky's lack of coverage this year, especially when they want to crack the US market - surely now is the best time to show their impartiality when compared to their Republican sister, FOX News.

They don't have a massive US operation though, if their Washington unit was more than an office and a green screen DTL (or two), I'm sure Sky would dedicate a timeslot for a show from the US.

Bob Geldof said 'boll***s' live on air twice yesterday after Jayne Secker suggested that if musicians paid their taxes fairly, there would be no need for charity singles such as this one. I am not surprised he was annoyed. The whole interview seemed to negate the track and its intentions by bringing up things like tax evasion and whether or not Adele refused to take part, neither of which really have anything to do with the track, and definitely nothing to do with curing those with the Ebola virus. A very poor show by Sky, I feel, and I'm not surprised Geldof reacted how he did.

I'm sure a lot of the public would want to know the answers though. Especially considering the "Adele snub" was in the papers and there are questions surrounding the tax issue. surely these musicians could afford to donate far more than the track could ever make. Geldof alone is reportedly worth £32 million.

I thought it was quite fair questioning from Jayne Secker, given the circumstances. It is a news channel, it's not there to promote products, regardless of the cause.
