An exciting Sunrise this morning. Kay and Mark Stone both live in Kuala Lumpoor coving the missing plane, Andrew Wilson live in Simferopol and Sam Kiley live in Moscow covering the Ukraine/Russia 'crisis', and Anna Botting and Isabel in London.

Tomorrow night on Sky1 and Sky News, Sarah Hewson is presenting a live Sky News special on the missing plane. Sounds as if it will be a Sky News branded programme, being shown on Sky1 too. With the Pistorius trial on Sky2 recently, I wonder if they're trying to branch out the Sky News brand across the whole Sky network.

Something the BBC and ITV should've been doing ages ago (doesn't include the occasional flood/snow special in place of the late/evening news).

Really strong reporting from Malaysia and from Ukraine tonight - Sky News on the top of its game at the moment.

Even the coverage of the Pistorius has been measured and managed to avoid being sensationalist.

Actually the Maylasia story in particular I think has helped all broadcasters take a more measured approach to covering the Pistorius trial rather than salivating over every detail.

Sky News branded programmes have also been aired on Pick. In addition Pick also has headline bulletins from Sky News.

Be interesting to see what, if anything, the proposed Discovery/BSkyB buy out of Channel 5 might mean for the C5 news contract in the future (should Discovery and Sky manage to be successful in their bid). Would be nice to see Sky News branded bulletins on C5.

I could not disagree more. Sky News bulletins on Sky1 perhaps, but not 5.

Not really. ITV News is produced by ITN which is 40% owned by ITV, and ITV News is pretty much a brand rather that a news gathering operation in its own right.

It'd be more like saying "I'd like to see ITN branded news bulletins on C5" to be honest - which is just as unlikely as seeing Sky News branded bulletins on Channel 5.

Or ITN branded bulletins on ITV? Or Sky News branded bulletins on nearly every commercial radio station in the country?

Or Sky News branded bulletins on tv-am?

Thought I'd share something really fun with TVF. On Thursday night, all the newsrooms got together at the London Film Museum on the South Bank for this year's Ultimate News Quiz, and I was delighted to be invited to play on the Sky News team.

We were delighted to emerge victorious, with the BBC's Nick Robinson acting as our quizmaster, and Radio 4's Martha Kearney and ITN's Chris Shaw (her husband) having pulled everything together. We were very proud to raise £100,000 for our appointed charities, Restless Development and Action for Children.

"Selfie", however, seemed to be the word of the night, with this one featuring an all-star cast:

And this one featuring the winning Sky News team (I'm second-from-left - between the two ladies - and yes, Nick snuck into ours as well!):
