Sky News presentation - new newswall

The slightly tweaked logo doesn't appear to be temporary - the start up screen on the iPhone and iPad apps now has the logo with a faint white outline around it. Somewhat similar to the white outline around the graphics used on Sky Sports' football coverage.

I like the new logo, the stronger contrast of the red colour coincides better with the strap color hue.

Would it actually be possible for Sky News to go two months without messing around with its graphics, which are other the top in the first place, maybe the BBC could go round and play The Day Today on that pointlessly large and ridiculous Screen that they have, although compared to Sky News' set, graphics and music The Day Today looks like News and Newsreel.

It's another change to the logo that is so small and insignificant, that it is pointless.

At 5 VO just saying "This is Sky News" displaying Colin Brazier and Jayne Secker behind Anna Botting on the big screen. Is there a line issue? Colin Brazier constantly starts to speak before he is on air.

I wonder if he is anticipating a delay, so he is trying to prevent that. I would of thought he would be given a cue or timing even though he is on location.

Reading that David Cameron has just walked out of a Sky News interview in the huff, when challenged about his lack of input on the current flooding. Did anyone manage to cap it?

He never walked off interview, it was one those pre recorded interviews that get played out un edited on pool basis interviewer only gets three questions apparently.

I don't think I've seen this on TVF before, but I've just found this montage of the elements designed for the 2010 relaunch.


Some of the graphic design is actually really impressive, and it's a shame that some of the elements - like the 3D transitions between graphics, transition from live graphic to the split screen etc never made it to air.

For those who haven´t noticed yet, the "old" logo is back.

Just in case my Google skills (and memory) are failing me, is the school stabbing (00:20-00:50) a story invented for the montage/training purposes?

I think so. I certainly can't recall any school stabbing like that.
