Sky News: Presentation Discussion

So, has Francis now left then... as per Chris Roberts

Appear to have left. I haven’t seen Francis on air since the story about him leaving appeared in the media. Also slightly concerned that there’s been no sign of Lisa Burke recently, although admittedly she could be on holiday.

I thought it was only Lucy Verasamy and Isabel Lang staying?!

Ah, well wasn't sure that was confirmed or not.

It's hard to see why you'd need more than two full-time weather presenters for Sunrise 7 days a week!

And I was correct in my thinking - it's just the presenter reading the weather over a full-screen graphics. Quite boring to be honest.

So, that's it for Francis, no mention or special tribute, just gone off screen ? After 17 years at Sky News, that's pretty shabby treatment really.

Morale must be pretty low behind the scenes having lost so many of their colleagues at once, but they are doing a pretty good job of hiding it I must say.

Rona, Lisa, and Sarah - I have to say I'm sad to see them go. Rona always seemed like a good correspondent, and I really did like Sarah Pennock. As for Lisa, she will get somewhere - I'm thinking she may take over Becky Mantin's role on ITV Weather when she goes on maternity leave?

Have to say I'm pretty glad Chris Skudder is going. He squints at the camera, worst sports presenter of the lot IMO.

Been told that Chris Skudder isn't leaving. They're just restructuring sport and my guess is he'll be reporting more than presenting. The only current sport presenter whose fate I don't know about is Jon Desborough.

Paul Brennan? Always felt he was under used. The BBC news channel (which is completely unnecessary anyway) has a lot to do with these redundancies. Sky just can't compete against the BBC.
