Apparently BSkyB want assurances from News Corp that they would maintain and respect the editorial independence of Sky News as part of any takeover deal.

Adrian Simpson. He doesn't seem to have any real prior news experience but perhaps I'm wrong. I think they're struggling for overnight presenters at the moment, with Lukwesa on an extended absence.

They are struggling for daytime presenters so I can't imagine how bad the overnights have been!

That's not something I know for a fact. It just seems that she hasn't been on for a while.

On another note, already don't like the presenters reading the weather. Let's hope they take the Jeremy Paxman approach.

the presenters reading the weather is really not working!! It might just be me but it seems so much harder to follow and seems much less detailed!

The money Paxman is on and he couldn't read out the weather. Poor guy.

So are the presenters just reading weather information with full-screen graphics on screen, as I imagine they are, or are they standing in front of a screen pointing? Surely the former?
