I was watching the press preview the other day and noticed Kelvin MacKenzie was on again after not seeing him for many weeks
They were joking around and he said something on the lines of...it was all going smoothly and then I said something and got thrown in the sin bin for 3 months. Does anyone know if there is any truth to this?

He was doing the paper review on Sunday's during the election campaign, he was also on as a guest many times including during the election results programme.
Kelvin did say recently, in his Sun column I think, about the claims Sky News is pro-tory, he didn't believe Sky was bias because after a paper review he got a phone call from a producer telling him not to air such an anti Labour view..
Does anyone know who will replace chris roberts on saturday live? With the axing of chris and the changes to sport and weather, can we expect any schedule changes in the near future?
Quite likely that Sky News HD will become available on Virgin Media's HD platform in the coming months following todays wide ranging deal between Sky and Virgin. Sky News' carriage on Virgin also looks secure for many years to come now.

May well take several months though as it will be subject to approval by Irish authorities, taking around 40 days and after that approval will be required in the UK. The deal itself also only states that Virgin will have access to the HD channels, it does not state they have reached a deal on the specifics of Virgin carrying Sky's HD channels. It is also quite likely that Sky will insist on Virgin charging extra for Sky's HD offerings. The only certainties are that Sky will take control of VMTV and in turn Sky will give Virgin long term carriage to Sky basic channels.
Are my eyes decieving me, or is Sky News really leading Live at 5 with the Rio story? Utterly ridiculous! We've got a horrible, horrible situation in Cumbria with developments still coming in and yet Sky think they should lead one of their flagship bulletins with a story about FOOTBALL
Sky News really need to stop relying so much on sports related stories, they have Sky Sports News afterall. Really stupid decision to lead with it IMO.

Hopefully they will axe Saturday Live and run two hours of normal Sky News instead.
I was also thinking about NSW, surely it wouldn't cost them any extra to run bulletins every 30 minutes instead of 15? They would have enough content from the previous programming, The hours of NSW still need a presenter, and fully operating gallery and production crew, and NSW always features lives every 30 minutes anyway?
I think the reason behind NSW is more of a "get news now" rather than cost cutting, as I really cannot see how these 15 minute bulletins save them that much money, considering they still contain quite a few live OBs and a sports presenter on set throughout the entire show. Plus they run 30 minute bulletins live throughout the night.
